UBIU</h3>\n<p>Fortec worked alongside Main Roads WA to complete urgent repairs to Bridge 0891.</p>\n<p>Our team implemented a single-lane closure under shuttle flow while Main Roads provided their <b>Under Bridge Inspection Unit (UBIU)</b>, allowing safe access to the underside of the structure.</p>\n<p>This was the first time Fortec has had the opportunity to utilise the UBIU and it was a great example of contractor and client working together to deliver safe and efficient bridge maintenance.</p>\n<p>Thanks to the Fortec team on site: Michael Nankiville, Luke Rigoll, Mavrick Cable, Sai project represents a significant milestone for Fortec.<br />\nThe scope comprises demolition and replacement of sections of the berth deck and superstructure, including pile repairs and concrete deck replacement, alongside management of heritage elements including removal of historic bollards and railway, and protection of the B Shed structure, built in 1927.</p>\n<p>These works extend the service life of the facility while enhancing structural capacity to meet future demands. The works involve the installation of soil nails, horizontal drainage and a shotcrete-lined catch drain, together with erosion control matting and a high-strength steel mesh facing system anchored by soil nails and vertical bar anchors. In September, Fortec carried out the final launch, lowering, and tilt of the Stirling Bus Bridge, followed by the grouting of the permanent bearings in November.</p>\n<p>This technically challenging project marked several key achievements on both bridges, including: 30 launched segments, 4 slide operations, lowering operations, tilt operations, 50 permanent bearings grouted.</p>\n<p>Using equipment acquired through Fortec’s international partnership with MK4, this project marked Fortec’s first use of the Eberspächer Lift and Push System, a significant milestone for the company.</p>\n<p>This success is a testament to the dedication and expertise of everyone involved.
